ALAN LEQUIRE & FRIENDS

On view through September

Alan LeQuire & Friends was curated off the heels of LeQuire’s recent Monumental Figures exhibition at the Nashville Parthenon. The massive Parthenon collection included 32 large-scale sculptures, culminating in one of LeQuire's most significant and ambitious works to date. To complete the task, the renowned sculptor employed many talented young artists. Five of them join us now for a diverse and interesting group show, reminding us of LeQuire’s wide array of figurative works and introducing us to various genres of some of the artists who generously agreed to spend the majority of the previous year with him.

Multidisciplinary artist and LeQuire Studio Manager, Amber Lelli collaborated with LeQuire on three of the largest sculptures for Monumental Figures and was team manager for the Parthenon project. For the current exhibit, Lelli contributes unique works in marquetry and glass.  Olivia Blanchard offers offbeat figurative portrait paintings in acrylic. Meredith Edmundson’s lovely glass vases and vessels lended a touch of elegance, and are currently sold out. Stone master, Stephen Hutchins has various abstract limestone and marble sculptures and basins, 2-4-feet in scale, perfect for contemporary gardens or entryways.  And Robert Gregory’s oversized bouquet banquet of cast aluminum wall sculptures add unexpected texture, flare and scale.

The exhibit also includes the Monumental Figures exhibition catalog as well as LeQuire’s drawings and maquettes of the Parthenon works.
