Merriam-Webster defines Beauty as: “The quality or aggregate of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or pleasurably exalts the mind or spirit.” I put the emphasis on “Or”!
From the physical and energetic beauty of dancer and actress Julienne Hough to Rebecca Deng, a “lost girl” of the Sudan who barely survived that Civil War and came to the U.S. as a refugee, making a life for herself and now serving a as a voice for women and children who have been victimized by war. Neither woman could be more beautiful but in far different ways.
Through my many years of photographing people of every kind I am presenting a few who give pleasure to the senses, and more importantly in my mind, lived a life beautifully.
Nothing could make them more beautiful.
